Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked Bourbon β a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that takes the Double Oaked program one step further, finishing fully-mature Woodford Reserve Double Oaked for an additional two years in a second heavily toasted, lightly charred new oak barrel β approximately twice the finishing time of standard Double Oaked, producing the most oak-forward and dessert-rich expression in the Woodford Reserve lineup.
Standard Woodford Reserve Double Oaked finishes the base bourbon in a deeply toasted, lightly charred secondary barrel for roughly nine months to a year. Double Double Oaked starts there and keeps going: the Double Oaked bourbon is transferred to a second finishing barrel β also heavily toasted and lightly charred β for up to two years of additional maturation. That extended contact with a third new oak surface produces a whiskey measurably richer and sweeter than Double Oaked, with more concentrated caramel, vanilla, and toasted wood sweetness layered over the original bourbon structure.
Originally a distillery-exclusive 375ml release, Double Double Oaked was expanded to a nationwide 750ml limited annual release in 2025 under Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall. It remains one of the sweetest and most oak-intensive expressions available from any major Kentucky distillery.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How does Double Double Oaked differ from Double Oaked? Double Oaked finishes in one secondary barrel for roughly nine months to a year. - Is this the sweetest Woodford Reserve expression? Yes β the extended toasted oak finishing produces the most caramel, vanilla, and honey-forward profile in the lineup, making it the most dessert-like bourbon Woodford produces.
