The Story
The Fortaleza Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo Collection brings together all three aged expressions from one of Mexico's most respected traditional tequila producers — a complete flight showing how Fortaleza's 100% Blue Weber agave evolves across the three aging stages.
Fortaleza is produced at La Fortaleza distillery in Tequila, Jalisco — one of the oldest continuously operating distilleries in Mexico, founded by the Sauza family in the 1870s. The distillery uses a 1.5-ton tahona stone wheel to crush roasted agave, a process largely abandoned by industrial producers. Every expression is additive-free and produced in small batches using traditional methods.
What's Included
Fortaleza Blanco 750ml — Unaged, bottled directly after distillation. The purest expression of the agave and the tahona process — fresh agave, citrus, and white pepper with a silky, creamy texture. Fortaleza Reposado 750ml — Rested in American white oak for approximately 6 months. The blanco character with added vanilla, caramel, and gentle wood spice. Fortaleza Añejo 750ml — Aged 18 months in small American white oak barrels. Rich, complex, and deeply integrated — dark caramel, chocolate, and warm spice over the agave base.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Fortaleza different from other tequilas?
Fortaleza uses a 1.5-ton tahona stone wheel to crush roasted agave — a traditional method that extracts more fiber character and produces a rounder, creamier texture than modern roller mills. Combined with small-batch production, copper pot stills, and additive-free production, Fortaleza is considered one of the most authentic traditionally produced tequilas available.
