Â
Ak Zanj means âWith Angels,â a reference to the Angelâs Share, the spirit stolen by thirsty angels each year, as the rum matures in barrels. Under the tropical weather of Haiti, the Angels are especially thirsty, and their share can be as high as 10 percent annually. The more they drink, the more mature and complex the rum.
TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Beautiful, smooth dark shade of mahogany
Nose: Aromas are moderately complex, first comes a sweet caramel bouquet, then heavier aromas of brown sugar, butterscotch, subdued earthy scents of sweet sugarcane, mild tobacco leaves and vanilla.
Mouth: Roundness of caramel, butterscotch, with a red fruit.
Finish: The finish is dry and medium long.
